Power Plant Tušimice

The Tušimice Power Plant has undergone extensive renovations in recent years. One of the first phases involved the renovation of the control room—the heart and brain of the power plant—which presented highly complex challenges in terms of both technology and the working environment. Despite the complex challenge, we succeeded in creating a very distinctive interior, inspired primarily by the interiors of the famous sci-fi ships from Star Wars. Operating the control room is very demanding work requiring many hours of concentration across continuously rotating shifts. We were thus able to bring at least some natural light into the adjacent offices using light tubes. Another criterion was acoustic comfort; the wall cladding therefore consists of perforated acoustic panels, which, thanks to their distinctive geometry, also create an interesting pattern on the walls of the entire control room and establish the unique atmosphere of a “spaceship” control center.
