Renovation and Expansion of the Rowing Club on Císařská louka

The overall form and architectural character of the rowing club building, following the removal of decorative elements (such as false mansards), is simple, almost archetypal (if there is such a thing as an archetype for a top-level rowing club). After the building was raised, its facades and roof were cleaned up and unified using a colored metal facade cladding, giving it a more modern look and slimmer proportions. It now stands out among the varied buildings along the Smíchov bank of the Vltava River as a clearly identifiable sports facility by the river, reflecting the speed and clean lines of rowing boats and skiffs.
